Hi, I’m Michaela Gillcrist — a portrait, boudoir, and event photographer based in Edmonton, Alberta. I’m also a mom, a traveler, an animal lover, and someone who finds deep joy in helping people reflect their authentic self.

My journey with photography began as a quiet love for storytelling — a desire to freeze fleeting moments and reflect the beauty in the everyday. Over the years, it’s grown into a practice rooted in connection, empowerment, and artistic expression.

I was born in British Columbia and have lived across North America, from the prairies of Edmonton to the rocky coastlines of New England. These experiences shaped not just my perspective, but my appreciation for people, places, and the stories we carry with us.

With several years behind the lens in Edmonton’s vibrant creative scene (and a few more in the US), I bring a blend of artistry, professionalism, and warmth to every session. I’ve also spent time in front of the camera as a model, so I understand the vulnerability that can come with being photographed… and how powerful it feels when the result reflects your truest self.

At Whispering Reflection, I create a space where you can show up fully, whether that means celebrating a milestone, stepping into your sensuality, or dancing barefoot in a field. I work with people of all backgrounds and identities, and believe photography should be inclusive, affirming, and full of heart.
